242 posts · Joined 2009. #1 · Dec 21, 2009. hi all im having trouble timing up my engine its a 2.2 tdci but im doing a conversion to a 2.2 tddi (see my other thread) ive got side cover off and locked crankshaft fuel pump and cams so all lines up but when i take the locking tools out and rotate the engine with a bar to double check timing the 11kgs (the static weight of the AC) adds to the 150kgs removed, with the rated power the effect is to have the equivelant of a Mondeo 2.2 hatch with about 200Hp, (in static weight) - the 1kg AC pulley not being on the engine is the equivelant of 1kg off the flywheel, which is supposed to be worth 100kgs off the car in 1st (though i cant use

The other thing worth mentioning is a solid blanking plate will "fix" a faulty or leaking EGR valve - the EGR becomes effectively "disabled" / non functional, - + it can't fail/ break again (makes the car/ engine more reliable) (its a mk3 Mondeo with a duratorque (Ford) 2.2 155ps? not a Mk 4 with a PSA engine)
