Oil smoke coming out the tailpipe means that it's getting inside the combustion chamber somehow. Check the CCV at the back of the intake manifold. Hello. I have a problem with my BMW F10 525d xDrive 2.0 218Hp 2013. The problem is from time to time car don't want to start. When I turn on ignition on dash I can see 2 faults: 1. Steering- drive carefully (and the wheel icon is flashiing) 2. Assistant for systems using cameras Our 04 325i (131K miles now) has developed a burning oil smell that you can easily detect inside the cabin when the fan is running (so the fan seems to be drawing the smoke into the cabin), as well as standing outside the car, so it seems that oil is dripping onto the hot exhaust. I can see a small amount of smoke coming from the engine
