There is an easy way to find out if your car is driven by a timing chain or timing belt motor. Fiesta 1.4 2009 - Timing Belt Replacement - Chris M. I need to replace the timing belt on my son's Fiesta. I've done a few belts in the past, a 16v Vectra many moons ago and an 8v Punto several times more recently, but not a Fiesta. I'll need to buy a timing tool set and a flywheel locking tool (about £50 the pair) but looking at Haynes, the

On the Mark V Golf with a 1.4 16V there is no timing belt replacement recommendation - only inspection. I'll be watching to see if VW makes any change to their recommendations. I still remember my 16V Scirocco losing its timing belt at 6yrs with 65,000 miles on it and having to fork out $$$ to replace bent valves. Southern Piemonte, Italy. Nov 18, 2012. #1. My Grande Punto Sport (Sporting in the UK?) was overdue for a timing belt change both on age and mileage. The engine is a 1.4L 16 valve, twin cam, petrol engine with variable valve timing; engine code 199A6000. The local repair shops here in Italy charge quite a bit for this job but what concerned me vRIpDAp.
